LINE COOK/PREP COOK
We are looking for a hard-working line cook/prep cook to be responsible for setting up workstations in the kitchen, preparing ingredients for the cooking process, and preparing meals according to our standard recipes. A line cook/prep cook is required to perform cooking duties, prepping duties, monitor stock levels, and take on culinary tasks as they arise.
To be a successful line cook/prep cook, you should understand and be willing to comply with food and sanitation guidelines and regulations, be quick and diligent, and be willing to improve on the job. A top-notch line cook/prep cook should be able to follow instructions and work in a fast-paced environment.
Line Cook/Prep Cook Responsibilities:

Setting up, stocking and sanitizing workstations.

Ensuring all food items are properly labeled, stored (rotated by date) and easily accessible.

Completing all tasks, in order, on the prep list from the general manager.

Distributing food to bartenders/barbacks/runners to be served to dine-in customers and preparing takeaway packages for pick-up customers ensuring orders are completed according to request and on time.

Supervising food and cooling room temperatures.

Accepting or rejecting ingredients from suppliers.

Cleaning dishes, washing cooking utensils and cookware, taking out the trash, sanitizing kitchen and storing the equipment at the end of shifts.

Preparing food including cleaning and cutting the ingredients and cooking main dishes, desserts, appetizers and snacks.

Ensuring that the kitchen operation procedures and hygiene meet food safety standards and regulations.

Keeping track of ingredient inventory and collaborating with other kitchen and management staff to order resupply.
Line Cook/Prep Cook Requirements:

Kitchen experience.

Manual dexterity to operate cooking tools such as knives.

Strong teamwork and communication skills.

Aptitude for multi-tasking.

Physical endurance to work long shifts in a busy environment.

Ability to stand, walk, bend, etc for extended periods, and lift up to 50 lbs

Flexibility to work shifts, weekends, nights, and holidays.

Ability to work in a stressful, fast-paced environment.

Strong task and time management abilities.

Positive, engaging personality, and professional appearance.

Additional education, training, certificates, or experience may be required.

Culinary school training would be advantageous.
